Duncan Topliss
Duncan Topliss is Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, and Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Monash University. He has a long-standing interest in thyroidology with an MD thesis in this area and over 200 publications many on thyroid physiology and disease. He is a past-President and Life Member of the Endocrine Society of Australia. He is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Thyroid Research, and has served on the editorial board of Clinical Endocrinology and a frequent reviewer for Clinical Endocrinology, Thyroid, and other endocrine journals. He has delivered a plenary lecture at an International Thyroid Congress on mechanisms of cellular uptake of thyroid hormone. He has given Meet-The-Professor sessions at the US Endocrine Society and International Congress of Endocrinology meetings, and has been a frequent presenter at meetings of the Endocrine Society of Australia. He has a substantial clinical experience in the management of thyroid disease and thyroid cancer over more than 30 years, and is currently a trial investigator of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in thyroid cancer.
