Dr Nicolette Hodyl is a NHMRC Biomedical Research Fellow based at the Centre for Early Origins of Health and Disease at the Robinson Institute, University of Adelaide. She received a PhD from the University of Newcastle, NSW in 2008 and a Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics in 2010 from the University of Adelaide. Her past research has included the development of animal models to study the effects of maternal bacterial infection on the ontogeny of the fetal HPA and immune systems. Her current research explores the impact of intrauterine and neonatal exposures to various environmental and obstetric challenges on foeto-placental endocrine-immune interactions in studies that range across basic science, epidemiology and clinical. She is a Council member of the Endocrine Society of Australia, and also an inaugural member of the ERC committee for the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand.
