Prof Markus J. Seibel

Markus Seibel is Professor and Chair of Endocrinology at the University of Sydney, Head of the Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism at Concord Hospital, and Director of the Bone Research Program at ANZAC Research Institute.
The focus of his research activities is the pathophysiology of bone metabolism, osteoporosis and metastatic bone disease. He has authored more than 350 peer reviewed scientific articles, reviews, editorials and book chapters, and is the editor of six books.
Prof Seibel was the Past-President of the German Academy of Bone and Joint Sciences. He is the President-Elect of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, where he also chairs the Therapeutic Committee. He is an active member of various editorial boards, and a co-author of the 2010 FRACGP guidelines on osteoporosis management.
