Bringing together some of the largest Saltwater Crocodiles in Australia & boasting the World’s largest display of Australian reptiles, Crocosaurus Cove is a must see attraction when visiting Darwin and the Top End. Check out the Barramundi, Archer Fish & Whiprays in our 200,000 litre fresh water aquarium, visit our turtles in our Top End Turtle Billabong, jump on our Fishing for Crocs platform and smile for the camera while holding a baby Saltwater Crocodile

When: Your ticket gives you all-day general access to Crocosaurus cove on Saturday 27th April. We recommend spending approximately 1,5-2 hours in the park.

Experience the ultimate face-to-face encounter as you are carefully lowered in to the water with a large saltwater crocodile for 15 minutes. Take in his intimidating gaze, feel the sheer power of his 3 tonne bite force, and learn to appreciate his true strength and resilience as a modern-day dinosaur.

The Cage of Death activity offers swimmers the opportunity to get up close and personal with our saltwater crocodiles in a controlled environment that is safe and enriching for both the crocodile and the visitor. Regular feeding throughout the experience is done in a way that encourages the crocodile’s natural instincts, giving swimmers the opportunity to witness our saltie’s infamous bite force under the supervision of trained handlers.

Meet one of our famous inhabitants: Wendell, Baru, Leo, or William and Kate and be wowed by this unique once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The Cage of Death experiences are scheduled in between 3:00 and 4:00pm (exact time will be confirmed closer to the date).

The Royal Flying Doctor Service:

Using the latest innovations in holographic technology, the life size hologram cinema experience tells the story of Rev John Flynn's vision and its realisation into the RFDS of today.

Climb aboard a decommissioned RFDS Pilatus PC-12 aircraft completely aero-medically equipped and learn about the activities of the RFDS's pilots, engineers, doctors, nurses and the experiences of the patients that are carried and cared for each day. 

  • 2 x Virtual Reality Stories of the RFDS - Relive the true experience of patient Gene Hildebrand and see what its like to fly with an RFDS Pilot.

  • Life size hologram of John Flynn the Founder of the Flying Doctor Service tells his story of the birth and growth of the RFDS. Includes headset audio translation in Japanese, German, French and Simplified Chinese.

  • Two Interactive story telling mini ghosts. Meet Alf Traeger and Nurse Kathy who answer selected questions from a touch panel.

  • Touchscreen Portals allow the visitor to learn about the history and the activities of the RFDS pilots, engineers, doctors and nurses.

  • Touch and Learn - The history of the RFDS Aircraft and the Women of the RFDS.

  • A decommissioned RFDS Pilatus PC 12 aircraft that allows visitors inside the aircraft and experience a fully aero medically equipped fitout.

  • Pedal Radio invented by Alf Traeger and used by people of the Outback.

The Bombing of Darwin Harbour:

The second iconic story featured is the Bombing of Darwin on 19th February 1942. The bombing of the harbour brought destruction to the city of Darwin, and many of the stories have been brought to life through our innovative technology. This exciting world-class exhibit features cutting edge technology - a hologram cinema experience telling the story of Etheridge Grant, virtual reality and a projection window of the Japanese air attack on the harbour.

  • Life size hologram of Rear Admiral Etheridge Grant was the Commanding Officer of the USS William B Preston narrates his own version of the Bombing of Darwin Harbour. Includes headset audio translation in Japanese, German, French and Simplified Chinese.

  • Interactive story telling mini ghosts. Meet Prime Minister John Curtin and Japanese Pilot Hajime Toyoshima who answer selected questions from a touch panel.

  • Virtual Reality of the bombing of Darwin Harbour. This production is the pinnacle of a movie production for VR. Never before seen production of this magnitude.

  • Full size replica Japanese Zero aircraft hangs from the ceiling.

  • Replica of Camilla the Flying Boat that escaped from Darwin Harbour and its story.

  • Window of 1942 and aerial view of the Bombing of Darwin Harbour that comes to life showing the bombing and aircraft fire of the first raid.

  • Story Boards that provide very informative reading and pictures of what took place on February 19th 1942.

Wander through the impressive NT flora and fauna exhibit, then see and hear the devastation Cyclone Tracy had on the city in 1974. The museum’s Discovery Centre is just for kids, with excellent educational exhibits. Museum entry is free.

  • Walk the Darwin Heritage Trail: The Darwin Heritage Trail is a scenic walk ideal for families and visitors seeking to experience the history of Darwin’s central business district, including the Darwin Waterfront area featuring Stokes Hill and the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels. You can enjoy the full journey or join the trail at any point along the map. You will discover the individual history, story and character of the places that contribute to the Darwin of today.

  • Take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens: The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens are two kilometres north of Darwin city. The gardens cover 42 hectares and are noted for their collections of north Australian and other tropical species.
